Congress MLA Komatireddy Venkata Reddy tore the papers and threw them into the air in the Assembly on Wednesday inviting criticism from Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy, who was in the Chair, and also the ruling party MLAs.

Mr. Reddy was angered over the Deputy Speaker pressing the bell to caution him on the time when he was speaking on the Fee Reimbursement and said he would sit down without continuing his speech. Without noticing his anger, the Deputy Speaker asked the next Congress MLA to speak, further infuriating Mr. Reddy who tore the papers and threw them into the air accusing the Government of suppressing his voice.

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao sought an apology from him for insulting the Speaker and that too a woman. However, The issue was settled with intervention of when Opposition Leader K. Jana Reddy intervened and requested the Speaker to give Mr. Reddy more time. Mr. Venkata Reddy later apologised but asked Mr. Harish Rao to advise the Chief Minister to include women members in the Cabinet to prove their respect for women.
