Khaleed alias Mohammed Khalid arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in connection with Bardhaman blast case worked as a teacher in Hafeezbabanagar and his siblings were studying in different schools in the area.

The family said that his father Kareemullah, working in Saudi Arabia, sent them money to meet their expenses. The family also applied for a refugee card from the UNHCR through a voluntary organisation and Khalid got a voter identity card also.

The family members of Khalid claimed that their son was innocent and was in no way connected with terrorist activities. “My son is a peace loving person. He was never called by the police at any point of time in Myanmar or Hyderabad,” Khalid’s mother Hameeda Hanam said. Neighbours described Khalid as a soft-spoken person.
