Kadiam to head MHRD committee on girl education

TS Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister, Kadiam Srihari, would chair the Sub-Committee of Central Advisory Board of Education (CABE) constituted by the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development to look into girl education. Other members include Ministers for Education in Jharkhand and Assam, while Additional Secretary of School Education, MHRD, would be the member secretary. The committee would examine the reasons for low participation of girls in education, including socio-economic factors, assess the current status of enrolment across the country and educational disparities among all groups.

The committee would suggest modifications in the existing system after examining the current schemes and incentives apart from the safety of girl students. It would submit its report within a year.
