Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao and MLC Farooq Hussain inaugurated a mobile application called ‘Hawk Eye’ at the district headquarters here on Sunday.

Addressing a gathering, Mr. Harish Rao said the application can be downloaded through Google Play Store while IOS device users can download it through Appstore.

Explaining its features, he said the app has options such as ‘report a violation’, ‘women travel made safe’, ‘register with police’, ‘community policing’, ‘emergency contacts’ and ‘know your report status’.

He said Siddipet was the first Commissionarate in the State to start the Hawk Eye services. The users would get notification related to traffic and crime and they can directly connect to the Facebook page of the related police station. On the occasion, he appreciated the functioning of police personnel under Commissioner V. Siva Kumar.

Mr. Siva Kumar informed that when women use public transport or take a private vehicle, they can use the feature ‘women travel made safe’ in the app and click the registration number of the vehicle and send it to police. If they face any problem during their travel, police would be able to help them immediately.

Explaining another feature called SOS, he said it allows the user to access police to seek help in emergencies. One click on the SOS, it sends a pre-recorded message to five pre-determined friends and relatives.

The same would be delivered to the concerned Inspector of Police, ACP, DCP, patrol mobiles and main control room.

The message comprises name, phone number, address of the person and her current location.
