SIDDIPET: The State Government is committed to revive the traditional vocations and as part of that sheep would be given to the shepherds at 75 % subsidy. The Government plans to allocate ₹ 2000 crore in the budget for the sheep to be given to the members of Yadava community, Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao said.
“We are trying to revive the traditional caste-based vocations. For that we are taking all steps required and sanctioning of sheep will be one,” he said while participating in various programmes, including inauguration of market yard constructed at a cost of ₹1.5 lakh, at Gundareddypally village in Koheda in the district on Wednesday.
Promoting hygiene
The Minister promised to sanction ₹10 lakh to the village if the officials and public were able to construct toilets in all houses by Thursday. He has also promised to sanction a check dam if the villagers promoted soak pits, bathrooms for every house and tap connections.
“Drinking water will be supplied from Lower Manair Dam in Karimagar to every household in the mandal by June,” he said. “Water will be lifted from Medigadda to Yellampally, Yellampally to Mid Manair and Mid Manair to Gauravelli. Mid Maniar will be completed in this year,” hesaid.
Pro-farmer Government
The Government has been spending ₹5000 crore for supplying nine hour quality power for farmers and godowns were built at cost of ₹1,000 crore, the Minister said. “All efforts are being put in place to create irrigation facilities, but the Opposition has been creating trouble by filing cases in court with the latest being that of Sundilla where blasting has been taking place for the construction of a bridge,” he said.
The Minister has examined the construction of ISLs and laid foundation for the construction of police station at an estimated cost of ₹98 lakh. Chief Whip Paturi Sudhakar Reddy, Police Commissioner Siva Kumar and others participated in the programme.
