Joint Collector V. Venkateswarlu called upon the anganwadi teachers to focus on pre-primary education.

Inaugurating a training programme for anganwadi workers on pre-primary education being taken up by the Azim Premji Foundation here on Saturday, Mr. Venkateswarlu said that pre-primary education plays key role in moulding the future of the children. It was important that the anganwadi workers understand their role and play it carefully.

Women welfare officer Ms. Mothi said that services were extended for more than one lakh children through 1,500 anganwadi centres in the district.

Representative of the Azim Premji Foundation Shastri said that nurturing of children at this stage will have an impact on their future.
