Engineering student killed in road accident

A speeding lorry rammed into a bike near Sushma theatre in Vanasthalipuram highway on Saturday. The rider of the bike G. Srinivas, 22, was killed instantly while his friend, Sai Chander, sustained serious injuries.

Both were residents of L.B. Nagar. Srinivas is a final year B.Tech. student of Avanthi Engineering College at Mazidpura in Hayathnagar. Sai Chander is also studying in another engineering college in Mahbubnagar.

The speeding lorry came from behind and crashed into the bike. Srinivas, who was riding the bike, fell off the bike. He suffered head injury. Death was instant for him. Sai Chander sitting on the pillion suffered fractures and was shifted a private hospital. Doctors said his condition is critical.

Neither of them was wearing a helmet.

The driver fled the spot abandoning the lorry at the spot.
