City-based cancer specialist appointed to advisory body

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and National Health Mission, Government of India, has appointed noted breast cancer specialist, Raghuram, as a member of its Technical Advisory Group (TAG) that would develop training material necessary for rolling out population-based breast cancer screening across the nation. Other members of the Technical Advisory Group include experts from AIIMS, Indian Council of Medical Research, Institute of Public Health, Public Health Foundation of India and PGIMER, Chandigarh.

Dr. Raghuram was selected by the government for his efforts and experience in implementing South Asia’s largest population-based breast cancer screening under the aegis of Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation.
