Ever wondered what drives most foreign nationals on a visit to the city? Well, foreign nationals seem to have a host of different ‘likes' that draw them to the city's fold.
Having found its place in the menu of most restaurants overseas, Hyderabadi biryani appears to be very popular among foreign nationals. And this is what most foreign cadets at the Bharat Scouts and Guides 16th National Jamboree feel as well.
Eager anticipation
“I know Hyderabad as a place where lip-smacking biryani is served. Though I have been to India several times, I am in Hyderabad for the first time and I am looking forward to enjoy the biryani,” says Agnes Golfier, the only Scout to represent France at the jamboree this year.
Besides biryani, Hyderabad is also known for its architectural splendour and places like the Golconda fort stand as an example of its rich heritage, she adds.
While, this was the French woman's opinion, Bangladeshi Scout Delowar Hossain says Hyderabad is known as the Information Technology hub in India.
“No doubt, it is very popular for biryani but our people recognise it as an IT place,” says Mr. Hossain.
He is accompanied by only one more Bangladeshi Scout, R. Anon, to the jamboree and they both are visiting the city for the first time. Anon feels that Hyderabad is now known as a modern city.
