54 cases booked against multiplexes

Complaints can be lodged on toll free and WhatsApp numbers

The Legal Metrology Department has booked 54 cases against top multiplexes and cinema theatres in the twin cities for continuing to collect high prices of commodities in violation of the rules. In the last couple of days, seven teams with 30 members participated in taking up raids in 18 multiplexes when the violations were detected.

Cases have been booked against Prasad Imax 2, PVR-Galiluo 3, PVR-Icon - Madhapur 4, GVK-I - Banjara Hills 6, Big Cinema - Kacheguda 6, Mahalaxmi - Kothapet 3, BBK-Multiplex - L.B. Nagar 1, Asian Cinema Square - Uppal 1, Asian Radhika - ECIL 2, Cine Polis - Malkajgiri 5, Talluri - ECIL 1, Spl. Cinema Pvt. Ltd. - Mallapur 2, Asian Mukunda-Medchal 3, Asian Cine Planet - Kompally 3, Sujana Forum Mall - Kukatpally 2, Manjira Mall - JNTU 3, Cine Polis - Shamshabad 4, and Asian Cinema Town -Miyapur 02. The teams were led by Assistant Controllers Bhaskar Reddy, Jaganmohan Reddy, Vijayasarathi, Nirmal Kumar, Rajeshwar and Shivanand.

The department has appealed to consumers to register their complaints at Toll Free number 180042500333, WhatsApp number: 7330774444, in case they come across any violations on the prices, a press release said.
