Four persons were killed in two separate road accidents in the undivided district of Nalgonda on Tuesday.

According to Nalgonda II Town police, B. Naresh, 32, and P. Anil Raju, 37, both residents of Panagal, were thrown out of their car when it lost control near ‘Leprosy Colony’ on the Narketpally-Addanki highway around 5 a.m. A private car driver Naresh, who was at the wheel, died on the spot and his friend Anil, a car salesman, breathed his last a few hours later at the district hospital while undergoing emergency care.

Police said the duo were returning to their homes early Tuesday morning after a night stay. It is suspected that the car was being driven at high speed, and that was the reason it lost control. The vehicle flipped several times before crashing on the highway side.

In another accident around 11 a.m. in Garidepally, a motorcyclist and his pillion rider were killed on the spot, after being hit and run over by a multi-utility vehicle.

Thirty-two-year-old Pole Rambabu and his uncle Chinna Swamy, 55, of Ramachandrapuram village in the same mandal, suffered head injuries and died on the spot. Police said the duo were on their way to Gaddipally, when the vehicle from Durajpally going towards Garidepally, hit them in a head-on collision. A case was registered and a probe has been initiated. In both cases, the victims did not wear helmets or seat belts, and died of head injuries.
