37 minors among 80 caught by ‘She’ team

About 80 persons, including 37 minors were caught by the ‘She’ teams of the city police in different areas. The police produced 37 persons before a court, which awarded jail-term to eight persons while the court imposed a fine on another 29 persons.

Swati Lakra, Additional Commissioner (Crimes) said that the police are recording the activities of the offenders with cameras and cellphones before detaining them. “No innocent is being detained. We have evidence against all those being taken into custody,” she said.

A few parents charged that innocents were also being picked up by the She teams. The city police on Wednesday organised a counselling session for teenagers for allegedly harassing women at public places. C

ounsellors from different NGOs and colleges have interacted with the youngsters and their parents.

12 injured in LPG cylinder leakage

Twelve people sustained burns when fire broke out at a house in LB Nagar following LPG cylinder leakage on Wednesday, the police said.

The house owner, Yellesh, organised a function at his house at LB Nagar to mark his departure for Sabarimala pilgrimage on Thursday. When food was being prepared, due to malfunctioning of the regulator, the gas leaked. Eight women and four men sustained burns. All the injured were shifted to private hospitals for treatment.

Ornaments stolen

Unidentified persons on Wednesday decamped with silver ornaments from a temple at Amberpet. According to the police, the miscreants diverted the attention of the priest of Sri Narsimha Ramaswamy temple and made away with the ornaments.
