3 Maoist militia held

Three Maoist militia members were apprehended and medicines allegedly meant for Maoist rebels were seized from their possession by the police at Bodanelly in Charla mandal on Friday.

The police identified the arrested militia members of the banned CPI (Maoist) as Madivi Lakma, 30, Madivi Andhaiah, 30, and Vanjam Ragaiah, 35.

The three persons hail from Burugupadu village of Kurnapally gram panchayat in Charla mandal.

Police sources said that the three militia members procured the medicines, including tablets and injections, from a medical store in Bhadrachalam.

They were headed towards a border village when they were caught by police team at Bodanelly crossroads in the afternoon.
