3 electric crematoria to be ready in a month

Three electric crematoriums at Punjagutta, Erragadda and Bansilalpet are likely to be completed within a month as per the assurances being made by the GHMC.

Senior officials led by Commissioner M.T. Krishna Babu inspected the three sites on Wednesday to review the progress of civil works and development of other amenities.

A new slaughterhouse under construction at Bhoiguda too is getting ready and likely to be completed by Feb-March next year.

The Commissioner also visited the dog shelter and animal birth control operation theatre at Amberpet.

Funds for wards

In a separate press release, Deputy Mayor Jaffer Hussain informed that the Commissioner had agreed to release Rs. 50 lakh for each division by the year end and the remaining amount of Rs.50 lakh before the next budget.

Meanwhile, the Australia-India Business Council, Victoria chapter, president John Philip Pereira called on Mayor B. Kartika Reddy at her chambers.
