Thirteen persons who sustained serious injuries in the twin blasts that ripped through Dilsukhnagar on Thursday continued to battle for their lives, while a few others developed hearing problems due to the impact of the explosion.

Heart-rending scenes were witnessed at Care Hospital in Nampally, Yashoda Hospital in Malakpet and Omni Hospital in Kothapet. “My son D. Ramesh discontinued studies in Mahabubnagar and came here to extend financial help to the family. He took up work at a bar, but the blast proved to be a severe blow to his plans as he suffered serious injuries on legs,” said his mother Yadamma, who wept inconsolably. Of the 14 persons admitted to Yashoda Hospital, Chogaram died on Friday, while the condition of three patients - Pandu Ranga Reddy, Srinivas Rao and Ravi Kumar - remained serious.

Wasey’s statement taken

Investigators recorded the statement of Mirza Abdul Wasey, who was injured. Wasey suffered injuries in the 2007 Mecca Masjid blast.
