12-year-old girl killed in accident

A 12-year-old girl was killed and eight were injured in a collision between car and RTC bus at Maheshwaram in Ranga Reddy district on Sunday. The condition of two of the injured was stated to be critical.

The victim Baby Harsha, a class V student, had gone to Maisigandi Maisamma temple in Mahbubnagar district with her family and was returning when the RTC bus going towards Kandukur collided with the car, Maheshwaram SI P. Anjaneylu said.

The injured persons were rushed to a private hospital . But Harsha was declared brought dead. Efforts were being made to nab the driver.

Salesman robbed

A four member gang of robbers looted about three kg of gold ornaments from a salesman after attacking him at Mehdipatnam on Saturday night.

Narsimha Reddy, a salesman working for old city based jewellery shop, came to another jewellery store to show the designs. Later, he left the store and walked about a hundred metres when a group of unidentified persons waylaid him.

“One of the gangsters threw chilly powder on him while another hit Narsimha on the head , snatched the bag containing ornaments and escaped,” ACP Asifnagar, Ghouse Moinuddin said.

“Those involved in the robbery have been identified with the help of CCTV camera footage ,” the official said. Narsimha used came to the jewellery shop to hand over the gold ornaments.

Police suspect that the miscreants might have kept a track on Narsimha’s movement before striking on Saturday.
