1,000 houses for labourers at Siddipet

Union Minister for Labour Bandaru Dattatreya said that as many as 1,000 houses were sanctioned for the labourers in the constituency.

Participating in an awareness meeting on cashless transactions held at the district headquarters on Friday, Mr. Dattatreya said that about 1,000 single bed-room houses were sanctioned each unit at a cost of Rs. 2 lakh and provident fund accounts would be opened for the labourers.

“All the transaction will be made cashless and salaries credited to the accounts of workers. Rs. 1,000 pension will be sanctioned for the eligible and credited to the accounts of the beneficiary,” he said adding that in addition to skill development programme Rs. 5 lakh would be offered for those interested in entrepreneurial activity.

Referring to demonetisation, the Union Minister said that it was a bold decision that would change the fate of the nation for better and cashless transactions were being promoted to ease the situation. Pointing out that demonetisation had forced stocked money to come to banks, he said it would be used for health and education of the general public.

District Collector P. Venkatram Reddy, General Provident Fund Commissioner Ganesh Kumar, Minimum Wages Advisory Board Member B. Ashok and others participated in the programme.
