10-month-old dies in wall collapse

A 10-month-old girl died when an under-construction retaining wall next to her house collapsed on her at Hakimpetkunta in Film Nagar here on Wednesday. The infant, Mayem Qureshi, was asleep when the incident happened. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s father, Khaseen Qureshi, a case was registered against the plot owner Srinivasa Raju . The victim, Mayem Qureshi, daughter of Khaseen Qureshi, was sleeping inside a room in their shanty, said Banjara Hills sub-inspector G Bharath Bhushan.

He said that the wall was being constructed next to their house and it collapsed in the morning, which resulted in the instant death of the infant girl. Mr Bhushan said that three more houses were also damaged in the incident.
