₹14,189 crore customs, excise duty collected

The Hyderabad zone of customs and central excise covering all 31 districts of Telangana has collected customs, central excise and service tax revenue of ₹14,189 crore by January-end during the current financial year.

According to Commissioner of Customs & Central Excise Sunil Jain, the tax collected during the first 10 months of the current financial year was about ₹1,500 crore above what was collected during the same period of the last financial year. In the first 10 months of the last fiscal, the zone collected a tax revenue of ₹12,693 crore.

Stating that the zone was expecting to reach the target of tax collection of ₹17,450 crore for the current financial year, Mr. Jain said the total tax revenue collection during the last financial year was ₹15,845 crore.

The collection of revenue arrears had already crossed the target for the financial year.
