February 21, 2017 01:26 am | Updated 01:27 am IST - SANGAREDDY

For the first time after four decades the families of the martyrs, who fought for the separate Telangana cause, were extended financial assistance by the Government.

Two persons of Sadashivapet – S. Krishna and M. Shankar - lost their lives while fighting for the separate state during 1969. Since then these families did not get any financial assistance except for once from former legislator T. Jayaprakash Reddy about three years ago.

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao extended a financial assistance of ₹ 10 lakh for the family members of Krishna and Shankar at a programme held at Sadashivapet on Monday. Lok Sabha Member K. Prabhakar Reddy, MLA Ch. Prabahkar and others were present.
