Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah claimed on Sunday that women and young girls in the Capital have got a renewed sense of security after the party announced Kiran Bedi as its chief ministerial candidate.

Addressing party workers at Pushp Vihar in South Delhi, Mr. Shah added it has also boosted the hope of those living in the slum clusters as “Ms. Bedi has been working in these fields as a social worker”.

Mr. Shah, who has been regularly attending panna pramukh sammelans over the past few days, laid stress on the role of booth-level workers and the panna pramukhs (page in-charge). Mr. Shah asserted that the week preceding the polls would be crucial and workers would have to work without rest to “bear the fruits on February 10” when the election results would be announced.
