A man has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a woman for rejecting his marriage proposal, the police said on Sunday. The victim is a friend of the accused’s sister and was known to him for more than a year.
The police said that the woman was coming out of her office on Friday evening when the accused, Pritam, allegedly attacked her with a knife causing serious injuries. The woman’s colleague also sustained injuries when he intervened. The woman was taken to Paras Hospital.
The police were informed on Saturday. A case was registered under relevant IPC section on charges of attempt to murder under and under the Arms Act based on the victims’ statement.
The victim used to study with the accused’s sister and has visited their house several times in the past.
