A 35-year-old woman was shot at when she resisted a robbery in outer Delhi’s Aman Vihar on Sunday evening, the police said on Monday. They said the accused are yet to be identified.

The police said that the victim was sitting outside her house around a bonfire, when two men came on a motorcycle and asked her to hand over her jewellery. When she resisted, the men opened fire at her. They robbed her chain and ring, and fled the spot.

Hearing the gunshot, the family members of the victim rushed out of the house. They took her to a nearby hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment. The police said she has sustained injury in the thigh, but is out of danger now.

The police obtained CCTV footage of the area. However, analysis of the same revealed that the incident was not captured on camera. However, the accused can be seen fleeing in the footage, the police said.

A case under relevant IPC sections has been registered and teams have been formed to nab the accused.
