After befriending a 25-year-old woman on Facebook and promising her a job, a youth allegedly raped her inside a car at a parking lot of a mall near Saket here on Monday.

The accused is yet to be arrested as the police are waiting for the woman to record her statement before a Magistrate.

In her complaint, the woman said that the accused, who introduced himself as Sonu Singh, had called her to a five-star hotel after offering her a job. He allegedly spiked her drink before taking her to the parking lot.

The alleged incident happened on Monday evening. The woman has claimed that after they became friends on Facebook and started chatting, she had told him that she was looking for a job. He in turn offered to help and assured her that he knew people who could employ her.

‘Was drugged’

In her complaint, the woman purportedly said that on the day of the incident, Sonu took her to a few shops and had lunch with her, after which he took her to the five-star hotel nearby. There, he allegedly offered her a sedative-laced soft drink, which made her dizzy.

He then took her to his car in the parking lot of the mall on the pretext of dropping her home. Once in the car, he proceeded to rape her.

The police said the woman was a resident of a colony in south-east Delhi.
