A 22-year-old woman allegedly jumped to death in South West Delhi’s RK Puram on Monday. The deceased’s husband has been arrested after the woman’s father alleged harassment for dowry, the police said.

A senior police officer said that the victim got married to Ram Kumar in May 2014.

The police said that the woman was rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre where she succumbed to injuries. The hospital authorities informed the police after which her parents were approached.

“The father alleged that her husband used to demand dowry and used to harass her. Statements of other family members were also recorded. A case under relevant Sections of the IPC was registered and her husband has been arrested,” the officer said.

Magisterial inquiry has also been initiated, the police said.
