Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party president Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday that he will not accept party leader Ashutosh's resignation .

"How can we ever accept ur resignation?" Mr. Kejriwal wrote on Twitter. "Not in this life," he added, quoting Mr. Ashutosh's resignation tweet.

Mr. Ashutosh, a journalist-turned-politician, had announced that he is resigning from the party due to a “very very personal reason.”

“Every journey has an end. My association with AAP which was beautiful/revolutionary also has an end. I have resigned from the PARTY/requested PAC to accept the same,” he wrote on Twitter.

“It is purely from a very very personal reason. Thanks to party/all of them who supported me throughout,” he added, requesting media to respect his privacy.

AAP Delhi convenor and Delhi Minister Gopal Rai said Mr. Ashutosh's decision was unfortunate and that they would meet to discuss it.
