The BJP’s seven newly elected MPs pitched for a BJP government both at the Centre and the Capital as the solution to its woes here on Saturday.

Delhi BJP president and North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari, Union Minister and Chandni Chowk MP Dr Harsh Vardhan, North West Delhi MP Hans Raj Hans, West Delhi MP Pravesh Verma and East Delhi MP Gautam Gambhir were speaking at a combined press conference over the party’s “historic victory” on seven Delhi seats in the 2019 general election.

“The mandate given by the people for the 2019 election is historic, and for that we are proud of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the karyakartas for their efforts. Last time too, we had won all the seven seats in Delhi and despite all the negative efforts made by the Opposition yet again we have won seven seats. The credit for this victory goes to BJP Delhi office-bearers, district and mandal presidents, Panna Pramukhs and all the BJP karyakartas ,” Mr. Tiwari said.

‘Poll fervour still on’

“For the Delhi BJP, the election fervour has not ended. We have started our work from this very moment. We will make Delhi the best. In the Lok Sabha election, we have won 65 Vidhan Sabha seats and after six months we will repeat this gesture by winning the Delhi Assembly polls,” he said further.

Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that this was the 7th election over the last 25 years in which the people of Delhi gave him immense love and support for which he was thankful to the Delhi people.

“The karyakartas of the ideological family of the BJP have given their sweat and blood for the election. People of all classes in Delhi, like the street vendors, labourers and social institutions have given their complete support to Modi ji...All of us seven MPs take an oath to work towards the vision of Narendra Modi,” he said.

Mr. Verma said Delhi was like a “mini India” and the results had mirrored the “results of India”. “The people of Delhi want us and that’s why they have voted for us. Now we have to work hard for the next six months and make the people of Delhi realise that if the same party rules at all the three levels, then all the work can be easily accomplished,” he said.

Mr. Hans said the people of the Capital had stamped with their approval the party’s faith in him. “The Prime Minister and BJP president Amit Shah have reposed faith in me and the people have given it a stamp of democracy...We are ready to serve the people of Delhi,” he said.
