Seven watches worth Rs.90 lakh were seized from two passengers by Customs officials at Indira Gandhi International Airport here on Thursday night. They have been arrested.

Asif Khan, a resident of Thane in Maharashtra, was returning from Hong Kong when he was intercepted. Customs officials allegedly seized a gold watch studded with diamonds and sapphires and a lady's watch, both valued at Rs.46 lakh.

“Asif Khan has a readymade garments business worth Rs.6 lakh per annum,” said Additional Commissioner Ashutosh Baranwal.

In another case, the officials purportedly seized a branded watch from Abdul Majeed Mohammad Ghouse, a resident of Mumbai, who was travelling on board the same flight. They seized four more watches that he had allegedly concealed in his rectum.
