“Corruption corrodes the vitals of the economy and is one of the major hindrances to the economic and social progress of our nation. One should be more vigilant with the commitment to the highest standard of honesty if we would like to build a new prosperous India,” said K.V. Chowdary, Central Vigilance Commissioner on Thursday.

Mr. Chowdary was addressing a seminar at the New Delhi Municipal Council convention centre, as part of the ongoing “Vigilance Week.”

He highlighted the importance of technological interventions in tackling corruption by bringing about transparency and to reduce individual discretion in fields like recruitment, allotments and others. He also stressed upon the need for behavioural change in society to fight corruption and bring a sustainable change.
