Two teenaged girls were raped in different parts of the Capital in the past few days. Five persons, including a minor, have been arrested.

In the first case, a 14-year-old girl, who stays in Kanjhawala with her parents and four siblings, had gone to fetch milk from nearby market on this past Monday evening when two young men allegedly pulled her inside their Hyundai Accent car and allegedly took turns to rape her in the moving car.

After a few hours, the two dumped the victim in a forest area in Kanjhawala.

The girl reached home late at night and narrated the incident to her parents who reported the matter to the police on Tuesday.

A medical examination of the girl confirmed the assault. The girl told the police that the accused were friends of her brother-in-law and identified them as Manoj alias Hatel (25) and Amit Gupta (30).

Manoj, who is previously involved in four cases of hurt, was arrested on Tuesday. Amit, who is involved in five cases of snatching, was arrested on Wednesday. Both are residents of Mongolpuri. The victim had met the two on a few occasions in the presence of her brother-in-law.

In another case, a 13-year-old girl was returning home in Dilshad Colony from a nearby market on Thursday around 2 p.m. when a young man accosted her and pulled her inside his Santro car. Two of his friends, including a minor, were also present in the car.

The accused, later identified as Gaurav, took the girl to his single-room rented accommodation and allegedly raped her. They also threatened to eliminate her if she informed about the incident to anyone and then let her go.

Fearing that she might report the matter to the police, the three started following her in the car. After walking a few metres the girl spotted a policeman riding a motorcycle and told him about the incident. The policeman chased the three and arrested them.

The other accused has been identified as Harish (22), a resident of Karawal Nagar.
