Two persons have been arrested for allegedly killing 35-year-old BSP leader Dilshad Khan in south-east Delhi’s Jamia Nagar, the police said on Tuesday.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal said the accused have been identified as Fahad Khan (18) and Farhan Ansari (19). They were identified with the help of CCTV footage of the area, he added.

‘Attempt to murder’

Dilshad, a builder, was shot dead on Monday evening as “revenge” for attempting to murder a relative of the accused, the police said. The two sides were in a dispute over land dominance in the area, they added.

A case was registered on May 31 in Jamia Nagar police station, after which Dilshad and three others were arrested in an attempt to murder case of one Shadab — the accused’s relative, they added. On August 24, Dilshad was released on bail. “Both the sides were rivals in supremacy for plot occupation in Jamia Nagar. They were engaged in a dispute over property matters,” Mr. Biswal said. The post-mortem was conducted at AIIMS, following which the body was handed over to the family on Tuesday.
