The south-west district police have arrested two criminals in the Najafgarh area. The suspects — Jitender and Ranbir — were allegedly involved in over 20 cases of murders, attempts to murder, robbery and extortion.

RA Sanjeev, DCP (South-West), said the armed criminals were held by the Anti Auto Theft Squad of the south-west district police from Najafgarh on Sunday. Jitender was out on bail in a murder case. “Upon release, he noticed that some dreaded criminals like Vikas Lagarpuria, Vicky Dagar and Neeraj Bawana were jailed and others like Manjeet Mahal and Shakti were on the run.

He took it as an opportunity to establish his supremacy in the area,” said Mr. Sanjeev. He set up his gang and was planning to enter into the business of disputed properties, said police.
