In two separate incidents, Police Control Room (PCR) personnel of the Delhi Police on patrolling duty were attacked on the intervening night of Sunday and Monday.
The first incident happened in North district where Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Amar Singh suffered injuries when three alleged auto thieves threw bricks at the police vehicle when the officers were trying to foil a robbery bid in north Delhi’s Sant Nagar, near Burari.
The ASI was behind the wheel when a brick hit his face and eye, the police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Nupur Prasad said a PCR call was made at 2.30 a.m. about a suspected motorcycle robbery.
When the PCR van reached the spot, the suspects tried to escape and threw stones at the van.
A brick hit the ASI on his face. However, the ASI managed to catch hold of one of the thieves, who was identified as Sunny.
Another patrolling team caught another accomplice identified as Saad from the neighbourhood.
The third suspect, however, managed to flee.
The arrested men were booked for attacking policemen and attempting to steal a vehicle.
In a similar incident, ASI Karan was injured when two unidentified men riding a motorcycle threw a stone at the patrolling van in which he was deployed at Windsor Place near Janpath on Sunday night. The ASI suffered minor injury to his head. No complaint was filed by him.
