An 18-year-old girlwas allegedly molested by her tuition teacher in Shahdara’s Mansarover Park on Sunday, the police said on Monday.
Mohit (27), a teacher at a private coaching institute in Chanderlok, was arrested on Monday, a senior police officer said.
Mohit had called the Class XII student for a class while all other students were under the impression that there was no class, he added.
Spoke indecently
“When she went, Mohit touched her inappropriately and spoke to her in an indecent manner. Sensing his intentions, she left the institute,” the officer said.
Lodged complaint
After reaching home, the victim narrated the whole incident to her parents after which they approached the police at Mansarovar Park police station.
“Based on the complaint, a case under section 354A (sexual harassment and punishment for sexual harassment) of the Indian Penal Code was registered,” the officer said, adding that the accused was then picked up. The police said that Mohit used to work at the institute and was not its owner.
