Transgender stabbed by another

A transgender was stabbed by another with a knife in Parthala Khanjarpur village in Noida Sector 122 over the share of the money they had received as a tip for their performance at a wedding, the police said on Thursday.

Sonu, a transgender, along with seven others, who have not been identified yet, have been booked on the basis of a complaint by the victim.

The police said that Sanam alias Pari, a transgender, dances at weddings. Both Sanam and Sonu live in Parthala Khanjarpur.

Sonu allegedly entered the victim’s house with seven other men around 1 p.m. on Thursday. They overpowered Sanam after which Sonu stabbed the victim in the abdomen and fled.

“We were informed about the incident around 2 p.m. A police team was sent to the spot and Sanam was rushed to a hospital. Doctors said that the victim is out of danger now,” said Akhilesh Tripathi, SHO at Phase III police station. “The accused is on the run. Arrests will be made soon,” he said.
