Tihar to set high bars for trade fair

This year’s India International Trade Fair is set to see Tihar Jail “aggressively” promote products prepared by their inmates. According to jail officials, they are gearing up to put up a “showroom-kind-of” display at their stall.

The IITF is being organised at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan from November 14 to 27 this year.

Like the earlier years, a stall will be dedicated to Tihar Jail to display their products. This time, inmates of Tihar’s semi-open jail are expected to be roped in to display their products.

“We will be seeking the approval of the prison’s Director General (DG) to allow around a dozen semi-open jail inmates to man our stall,” a senior jail official told The Hindu .

The products they will specially promote this time are spices manufactured by their inmates and a “special” phenyl prepared from neem leaves. t shops in the city’s Dilli Haat.
