Three more members of Kranti gang arrested

Their accomplice was held on December 4 after a shootout

Three members of Kranti gang were arrested on Friday, the police here said. Their accomplice was arrested on Tuesday after a brief exchange of fire, in which one of the three had sustained injuries.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said that the accused have been identified as Devender alias Sonu Kharkahadi, Shekhar and Ravinder alias Dholu.

Devender and another member, Ranveer, had sustained injuries in Tuesday’s shootout. Their accomplice Jitender was arrested, but Devender and Ranveer had managed to flee.

The police said that the team, which was working on the case received another tip-off that the injured would come to Dwarka from Gurugram side to arrange funds for their medical treatment. A trap was laid and the three were arrested, they said. “Devender was sent to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital for treatment,” Mr. Yadav said.

The police have seized two countrymade pistols and four live cartridges from the possession of the accused.

“Devender, along with his accomplices killed his uncle in 2016. He is involved in more than 15 cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery, and extortion among others. A reward of ₹1 lakh was announced on his arrest. Shekhar is involved in five criminal cases and had a reward of ₹50,000 on his arrest,” Mr. Yadav also said
