Three minors witness murder of mother

Three minor children witnessed the brutal murder of their mother, allegedly by their drunk father, and were left crying next to her body when he fled after the incident in south-west Delhi’s Dwarka on Sunday.

The motive behind the murder is unclear but initial investigations have revealed that the 32-year-old accused and his wife quarrelled often because of his drinking and other domestic issues.

Amrika Devi (26) lived with her husband and three children — two sons and a daughter all between the ages of two to five years — in a village in Dwarka Sector 19. The police suspect she was strangulated. A case of murder has been registered and efforts are on to trace the husband.
