Three men injured as car hits street light

Occupants were drunk, say police

Three persons sustained serious injuries in the early hours of Saturday after the car they were travelling in hit a street light in east Delhi’s Mayur Vihar, the police said, adding that the occupants were inebriated at the time of the incident.

A senior police officer said that the injured have been identified as Prateek, Atul and Prateek, all employees of a private company in Noida.

The police said that they were informed about the accident on Mayur Vihar flyover at 12.41 a.m. on Saturday.

“When a police team reached the spot one blue car was found hit to central verge,” the officer also said.

During inquiry, the police said, it was found that the car was being driven by Atul.

Condition stable

“All of them sustained injuries and were shifted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital. Their condition is said to be stable now,” the officer said.

The police said that the three men were coming from Gurugram and going towards Noida after dropping a friend near Akshardham.

The vehicle is registered with Transport Nagar RTO, Lucknow, in the name of one Asha Pathak, they added.
