Three arrested for burglary, vehicle thefts

Three men have been arrested from Jaitpur in south-east Delhi on Tuesday night for their involvement in several cases of burglary and vehicle thefts reported from different parts of the city, the police said on Wednesday.

The accused have been identified as Jai Prakash (21), Bunty Prasad (33) and Vikas Sharma (24). One of them was caught red-handed when they had entered a house in south Delhi’s Saurabh Vihar near Jaitpur to commit a burglary, the police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal said 14 cases of burglary, vehicle thefts and cases under the Arms Act have been solved with the arrest of the three accused.

A countrymade pistol, a knife and six stolen motorcycles and scooters have been recovered, he said.
