Following the incident where 25 children were taken ill after consuming lunch, the Step by Step School authorities in Noida have written a letter to administration and apologised for not providing access inside the premises citing their protocol on Monday.

The school submitted a report of event and also assured full cooperation in the investigation.

The Gautam Budh Nagar police has issued a letter to school authorities seeking them to name the people involved in respective committees. They have found 19 more medicolegal certificates (MLC’s) from Max Saket on Monday.

Earlier, they had found 18 certificates issued by hospitals which mentioned “food poisoning” as the reason behind the incident.

“On April 5, some of the students went to the infirmary and complained of nausea, vomiting and stomach ache. The school provided first level treatment to them,” read the letter.

After a while, more students showcased similar symptoms following which doctors were called from Max hospital.

Based on the initial assessment, the case of food poisoning came forward, accordingly the school suspended the services of Sodexo and demanded the senior management to look into the matter.

“The school respects the rule of law...however, they have a protocol which people have to follow to enter school premises. After it came to their notices that senior officials were denied access, we provided them with everything even food samples were collected. We wish to convey our regards for the same,” the letter stated. The school reopened on Monday.

“The canteen was suspended after the incident. Unless the issue is resolved, the students are advised to bring get tiffin,” read an email sent to the parents by the school management.

Around seven students are still admitted at two different hospitals in the NCR.

“We are waiting for the results of the samples. We have asked to issue the names of the people involved in several committees under CrPc 91,” said Ajay Pal Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar.
