Students’ body demands FIR against PMO

over Rafale file ‘theft’

March 13, 2019 01:41 am | Updated 01:42 am IST - NEW DELHI

The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) on Tuesday organised a protest outside the Parliament Street Police Station requesting the police to file an FIR against the Prime Minister’s Office for failing to guard nation’s secrets.

The NSUI alleged that the Rafale aircraft deal has been mired with accusations of massive corruption and misuse of the office of the Prime Minister, at the cost of the nation’s security. “These non-cognisable offences have now been made cognisable by the alleged ‘theft’ of secret defence documents related to the Rafale aircraft deal, according to the Attorney General of India in his deposition to the SC on March 7,” the NSUI said.

“We demand a time-bound, professional police investigation by honest and upright police officials devoted to rule of law,” said NSUI national president Neeraj Kundan.
