Never mind that he had never met her, was told off when he tried to talk to her on the phone and that she was married. Vivek Kumar Aggarwal was sure that he would marry this woman one day.

In order to realise his ‘marriage dream’, Vivek even tried to kill her husband twice. Arrested on Thursday from Rohini, the real estate agent allegedly told the police that he was influenced by Shah Rukh Khan’s character in Darr .

Five years ago

According to the police, the woman worked in the real estate sector and was taking a stroll near Kirti Nagar when Vivek first spotted her five years ago. If police claims are to be believed, he admitted to having stalked her since. Vivek’s ‘obsession’ failed to subside even after the she married real estate agent Piyush.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rishi Pal, Vivek arranged for her phone number and tried to contact her, but she told him off. He nearly succeeded in killing Piyush when he opened fire at him on April 20. “Piyush used to drive his wife home from Rohini West metro station. As they reached home around 8.10 p.m., a motorcyclist fired at him,” he said.

When they reached home after getting discharged from the hospital, there was a letter was waiting for them. It accused Piyush of impregnating the sister of the accused. “This was done to make her suspect Piyush,” Mr. Pal said.

Probe revealed that other murder attempts had been made on Piyush. Two months after her marriage, the accused had opened fire at Piyush, who was taking a late night stroll.
