Staggered holidays for Noida markets

: From January 1, industries and markets in Noida and Greater Noida will have staggered weekly holidays as the district administration aims to reduce traffic in order to curb vehicular pollution.

At a meeting of stakeholders on Wednesday, Gautam Budh Nagar district magistrate N.P. Singh announced a schedule for weekly holidays, dividing Noida and Greater Noida into seven zones each.

Markets in Noida’s Sectors 1, 3, 15, 16, 57, 68, 80 and 90 and Barola, Nithari, Morna and Naya Bans villages will be off on Mondays. Tuesdays will be the weekday holiday for Sectors 2, 4, 18, 22, 23, 37, 41, 50, 58, 69, 81 and 89, and Bishanpura, Aggahpur and Chhalera villages. Sectors 5, 7, 27, 28, 29, 59, 67, 83, 88 and 110, and Harola, Atta and Bhangel villages will be off on Wednesdays. Thursday will be the holiday for markets in Sectors 6, 60, 66 and 84, and Mamura village. Friday will see a holiday for those in Sectors 8, 51, 53, 61, 65 and 85, and Gijhor and Hoshiyarpur villages. Sectors 10, 62, 64 and 87 will be off on Saturdays. And, Sundays will be the holiday for those in Sectors 9, 11, 12, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 63.

Industrial areas have also been divided into seven zones, and multiple schools in the same sector have been given staggered timings as well.
