St. Stephen’s College has declared 99 per cent cut-off for English Honours for commerce stream students.
The college announced its first cut-off list on Tuesday, keeping the cut-off for most subjects above 95 per cent.
The cut-off for English Honours for science and humanities students is 97.75 per cent, the highest for any of the subjects on offer at the college.
The second highest cut-off stands at 98.5 per cent for Economics Honours for commerce stream students.
The cut-offs for most of the courses in the college are more than last year, the highest being for students from commerce stream, followed by science and humanities.
According to college officials, the college has received the highest number of applications — 32,100 — this year. Before this, the maximum number of students — 27,000 — applied in 2013.
The college has also introduced a 30-minute aptitude test this year.
Till last year, the college used to enrol students on the basis of a personal interview and cut-offs announced after Class XII examination.
Even though Delhi University has decided to eliminate stream-wise cut-offs and extra riders by colleges from this year, St. Stephen's has continued with its earlier pattern.
Other colleges in DU will announce their first cut-off on June 25.
There are separate cut-offs at St. Stephen’s College for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (non-Christian), Christian Scheduled Tribes, Church of North India (CNI), CNI Delhi Diocese, Other Christians, Christian Person with Disability, Persons with Disability for some particular subjects, and for Urdu students.
The college had also announced a marginal hike in tuition and hostel fees for the new academic session.
