Smoke in metro coach, passengers deboarded

Incident happened at Pragati Maidan

Commuters on a Noida-bound metro train were deboarded at Akshardham metro station on Wednesday following reports of “minor smoke” emanating from a coach, said officials of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).

“An incident of minor smoke was reported from the last coach of a train at Pragati Maidan around 2.35 p.m. No physical cause was observed by the maintenance staff, but passengers were deboarded at Akshardham metro station as a precaution,” said DMRC officials.

DMRC officials said that the train was withdrawn from service following the incident.
