Delhiites were treated with a range of cultural programmes over the weekend that encouraged them to vote in the February 7 Assembly elections.

Puppet shows, street plays, concerts, and bike and cycle-rickshaw rallies were held by the different District Election Officers under the Chief Electoral Officer’s Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative. A series of 36 performances by theatre group Asmita have been organised, the office of the CEO said in a statement.

Delhi CEO Chandra Bhushan Kumar said, “The street plays under the SVEEP programme are an important way to reach voters .”

On Sunday, East DEO Kunal said that a bike rally started at the Commonwealth Games Village and went across the East Delhi constituencies before ending at the sports complex.
