Saying it with flowers

The New Delhi Municipal Council has a novel way of making its presence felt. It has chosen to showcase its work with flowers. The photo here is a view of designer flower beds at the crucial Akbar Road- Janpath roundabout close to the residence of Sonia Gandhi.

The NDMC also looks after some of Delhi's important parks including the historic Lodhi Gardens, Nehru Park, Talkatora Garden, Sanjay Jheel Park, Central Park Connaught Place, Children Park at India Gate and Shanti Path. In addition, it takes care of the horticulture needs of over a thousand colony parks, fifty roundabouts and the lawns in the North Avenue, South Avenue, Rashtrapati Bhavan, and Parliament House area. It also maintains green strips of over a hundred roads and lanes including avenue trees.
