‘Sans revision, quota for EWS a stunt’

January 08, 2019 01:58 am | Updated 01:58 am IST - New Delhi

If the BJP-ruled government does not bring a Constitutional amendment to enable a 10% reservation for the economically weaker section (EWS) of the general category, which it approved on Monday, then the decision would prove to be an “election stunt”, said Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal.

Reacting to the news that the Cabinet had approved the reservation, Mr. Kejriwal tweeted: “...The govt shud extend Parl session and bring constitutional amendment immediately. Else it is merely an election stunt. [sic]”

In another tweet, he said the AAP would support the government if it brings an amendment in Parliament.
