Robber arrested

A dramatic encounter in South East Delhi’s Sunlight Colony on Wednesday led to the arrest of a man who has been committing robberies on motorcycle using weapons, said the police. A Delhi Police sub inspector sustained a bullet injury when the now absconding accomplice of the arrested man Fukran opened fire on the chasing police party. According to DCP (South East) M.S. Randhawa, the police had information that Fukran and Shahjad were supposed to come to that part of the city on Tuesday evening.

He added that when Shahjad and Fukran , were signalled to stop, Fukran took out a pistol. “The staff advanced to apprehend them on which the pillion passenger opened fire and injured SI Bijender Singh,” said Mr. Randhawa.
